We are the exclusive distributor for Italy of SMARTFLEX, the complete multilayer polyethylene system for the underground transport of fuels, blends, hazardous and/or special fluids (e.g. AdBlue, aviation fuels and biodiesel).
Compliant with the main and most stringent industry standards, such as EN14125 and UL/ULc, Smartflex includes all the necessary components for the installation of the mechanical system.
The polyethylene fuel transport pipe is multilayer. It combines the excellent mechanical properties of the high-density polyethylene of the outer layer with the very low permeability and high chemical resistance of a specially designed thermoplastic inner lining.

This coating provides:

• an impermeable barrier to fuels
• excellent wear resistance
• high long-term pressure resistance
• limited pressure drop

The secondary pipe is characterised in comparison to that of our direct competitors by the fact that it is not just a simple containment barrier, but a true high-density polyethylene pipe capable of withstanding the conditions foreseen by a leakage monitoring system in full compliance with the ATEX standard and EN13160.
Both the single- and double-walled tubing thus realised are EN14125 compliant.
In order to comply with the UL/ULc standard, the pipeline is coated on the outside as well as on the inside, while in the double-wall system the secondary pipeline is also coated on the inside.
The range of single- and double-wall fittings includes a wide variety of shapes and diameters. All fittings, as well as the pipes, are sized to provide an insertion length and thickness to ensure an extremely reliable joint and quick and safe installation. The double-wall fittings are fully coaxial, the gap being continuous and monitorable even within the fitting, eliminating the need for bypass.
A complete range of threaded adapters, flanges, reducers, pass-through flanges and installation equipment make SMARTFLEX a complete system.

Electro-welding technology, further facilitated by the use of barcodes, was chosen because:

• It is easy to perform correctly
• It is extremely reliable (over 50 years of experience)
• It is safe for the operator (uses minimum voltage values)
• Does not require complex and heavy equipment
