Manufactured using an innovative, patented production process.

The electronic cavity monitoring unit is manufactured in accordance with the European standard for cavity monitoring EN13160 and meets the requirements of Directive 2014/34/EU (ATEX). With air or nitrogen pressure control and various types of sensors, it continuously monitors the cavities of storage tanks, supply pipes to dispensers and/or underground sumps, depending on the control technique used. The gaps can be monitored with sensors, dry air or nitrogen, the holding pressure is generated by one or more compressors built into the equipment or by a nitrogen cylinder or generator.

The control unit continuously checks the tightness of the piping or tank cavity by means of analogue pressure transducers. In the event of small pressure drops, it operates the compressor and/or solenoid valve to bring the pressure back to the pre-set values. In the event of leakage, ascertained through a series of programmable reset attempts, an alarm situation is signalled by the change of colour of the indicator light and the activation of the buzzer.

An algorithm in the electronic board’s microcontroller discriminates between pressure drops due to temperature variations or tank filling phases.
An alarm message can be sent via a GSM/GPRS line to a remote maintenance service, which then alerts the service personnel via email, SMS, etc.

A series of indicator lights on the control unit displays:

  • The operating status of the equipment
  • An alert or alarm signal depending on the operating status of the equipment

The control units can interface with a series of sensors for monitoring sumps and tank cavities, sniffers for detecting the presence of explosive vapors, etc., and can connect to remote equipment via various communication interfaces (RS485 | GPS | LAN).
